LED engineering calculator
Viewing Distance Calculator
Estimate minimum, recommended, and comfortable viewing distance from LED pixel pitch. Use this as a planning guide before confirming screen size, resolution, and content detail.
Calculator
Enter the LED pixel pitch in millimeters. The calculator returns distances in meters and feet.
How It Works
Minimum
Minimum distance in meters equals pixel pitch in millimeters multiplied by 1.
Recommended
Recommended distance in meters equals pixel pitch in millimeters multiplied by 2.
Comfortable
Comfortable distance in meters equals pixel pitch in millimeters multiplied by 3.

FAQ
Is the minimum distance the best viewing distance?
No. Minimum distance is the closest practical estimate. Recommended or comfortable distance is usually better for normal viewing.
Does outdoor viewing distance change the formula?
The same simple formula can be used for early planning, but outdoor signs often use larger pitch because viewers are farther away.
Should I choose pitch from distance only?
No. Also consider content type, screen size, budget, brightness, and camera requirements.
